Sulforaphane is a glucosinolate compound found mainly in some cruciferous plants. Broccoli is also a rich source of Sulforaphane, especially in the germ of broccoli.

It is obtained by hydrolyzing glucosinolates (Glucosinolates) by myrosinase in plants. Broccoli are particularly rich in glucoraphanin. Glucoraphanin, also known as 4-Methylsulfinyl butyl glucoside, belongs to aliphatic glucosinolate, and its degradation product is sulforaphane.
Sulforaphane has been shown to provide powerful health benefits.
